Harvard es una universidad que se encuentra en la ciudad de Cambridge, estado de Massachusetts, en Estados Unidos. Popularmente es conocida por ser la institución de enseñanza superior con más años de antigüedad en los Estados Unidos. Harvard pertenece a la Ivy League (Liga de la Hiedra), una liga constituida por las ocho universidades más prestigiosas de todos los Estados Unidos.
Harvard debe su nombre a Jhon Harvard, el primer benefactor del recinto y fue fundada el 8 de septiembre de 1636 bajo el nombre de New College. En 1639 tomó el nombre de Harvard.
Se calcula un promedio de 6.650 estudiantes de pregrado y 13.000 estudiantes de postgrado en toda la población estudiantil de esta institución que cuenta con 12 escuelas de estudios superiores que incluyen pre y post grado, más el Harvard College y el Seminario Harvard.
